Listed below, there are assignments that I have created throughout the year pertaining to the topic of education. Each assignment incorporates technology into the lesson plan in order to create interesting activities for the students. ~The first assignment that I chose to include is a lesson plan that I created for students in first grade. The lesson in Mocrosoft Word is planned to develop the students' addition and subtraction skills in the early stages of elementary school. It will be used in the classroom to help students understand different mathematical skills that they can use. Given that these students are in first grade, I do not want to confuse them with too much technology in the classroom.Therefore, I think that the use of the calculator for mathematical skills after the general concept of the lesson is grasped is a way to incorporate technology into the lesson.
~The second assignment that I chose to include is a lesson plan that involves seventh grade students and the weather. This will be used in the classroom to help students understand Microsoft PowerPoint, and learn aspects about the weather at the same time. I think that it is important for students to understand the different concepts that the weather incorporates because weather is a part of their daily lives. Technology is a major part of this lesson plan because it involves having the students make a PowerPoint with the different information that they found on the internet. Also included is a link to a student example of the PowerPoint presentation.
~The third assignment that I chose to include is an educational PowerPoint presentation that could be used in a classroom as a review for a test over geometry. It could be used in the lower elementary grades, as well as the upper grades such as fourth, fifth, and sixth because it is very versatile in its information. This PowerPoint included hyperlinks to other slides throughout, which makes it interesting for the children who are trying to learn the material. For technology, this assignment will help students understand the concept of PowerPoint and the different aspects that it encompasses.
~The fourth assignment that I chose to include is a glog created for the beginning grades in elementary school on the order of the planets. The glog uses the website Glogster.com. This website would be useful for any topic of study that a teacher wants a child to get more interested in. As a child, it is very important to understand the order of the plants, and I feel that this glog enhances their learning ability. The animated images make the page interesting, so the children want to learn the information because it is fun. This technology would be fun for children to use because it is animated.
